Data Science and its wide range of applications

Businesses and organizations have become wise and smart enough to sell and promote products based on customer interest and purchasing power by using this field called data science. These apps mentioned below show how they have managed to win our minds and hearts.

1. VOICE RECOGNITION:

For voice recognition, products like Cortana, Google Voice, Alexa, Siri, etc. are the perfect examples. If one gets bored of writing a text or is not fit to write then this app is helpful. You just need to speak and it will automatically convert to text. Thus making life much easier!

2. SEARCH ON THE INTERNET:

We use Google more than we use our manuals, right? Google or any other search engine like ASK, Bing, Yahoo, etc. It has made life easier for us. Would it be possible for these search engines to exist if Data Science did not exist? The answer is simply no. It is the Data Science algorithms that transmit the best and best result of our search query in a few seconds. Every day, Google processes more than 20 petabytes of data. It is data science that has made Google what it is today.

3. PLAY:

Machine learning algorithms are used in games to automatically update when the player reaches the next level or higher. Using data science, EA Sports, Nintendo, Sony, Activision-Blizzard, Zynga have guided gaming events to the next level or higher. When it comes to movement games, the player’s opponent i.e. the computer examines the player’s previous moves and sets up the game accordingly.

4. FRAUD AND DETECTION:

Finance had been the first applications of data science. The losses and bad debts every year had fed up the companies. While the loans conform to a fair amount, the data was collected at the beginning of the paperwork. Then they brought in Data Scientist to save them from loss. Now banks have learned to conquer and divide data by looking at customer profiles, past spending and other important variables to examine probability of default and risk. They also found it helpful that their banking products were driven by customer purchasing power.

5. IMAGE RECOGNITION:

When you upload a picture with a group of friends or people on Facebook, you get suggestions to tag them. This automatic tag suggestion feature uses a facial recognition algorithm. Similarly, it is possible to scan the barcode in a web browser while using WhatsApp on a mobile phone. Google also gives you an option to search for images by uploading one. Here, image recognition is used to provide the best search results.

6. TARGETED ADVERTISING:

Search is not just the biggest application of machine learning and data science, the other big challenge is the whole scale of digital marketing. Websites containing display banners and digital billboards in airports, these are all made using algorithms in Data Science.

7. WEBSITE RECOMMENDATIONS:

We are used to recommendations on similar products when we shop online. They help us find identical products among millions to billions of available products. Companies use this engine to promote their products according to the interest of the user and their relevant information. To improve the user experience, Amazon, Netflix, Twitter, Google Play, LinkedIn use this experience. Based on the user’s previous results, recommendations are made.
