There are entire firms that help protect corporate brands by infiltrating forums and chat rooms to quell complaints, and Political Operatives have the same people making it seem like there’s a large number or a large amount of support for something when there isn’t. there is. Our own CIA did this during the Arab Spring in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and of course these are all Cold War tactics and guerrilla warfare strategies using a new medium of “social media”. And while I enjoy spy novels, and I think looking at Occam’s razor first, it’s also wise to take into account all the techniques know-it-all humans think they can play. They’re out there, and I’m assuming they’re on all the dating sites. However, when you meet people physically, you can quite easily determine their true intentions.
I always thought it would be nice if everyone had to get verified online, and I’ve heard the arguments from the EFF and others about why anonymous use of the internet should be allowed to ensure freedom of expression, and the calling for corruption, I sometimes think which does a disservice to confidence in such a wonderful communication system.
I’m sure neither of you are surprised by any of the online activity from the Russian bride scam to the US citizen Afghanistan contractor scam asking lonely rich ladies for money. What I can’t understand is how someone would be so stupid as to fall for that garbage.
Yeah, I’ve also met some really nice girls, people I’ll probably be friends with for life, even if we’re not compatible as a couple. I have even helped connect people to do business or things they are trying to do in their lives, as I have a great network of friends. It’s a shame that scams and game players screw it up and make everyone feel shy, scared or paranoid. Of course, just because you’re paranoid on a dating site doesn’t mean someone isn’t trying to scam you. ?
