Should you get a porter?

There is absolutely no answer to the above question. People have different standards of living, different needs, different efforts, different financial allocations, and different definitions of life. Whether to get or porter or not depends on your lifestyle. There are pros and cons of course, but your relationship depends on how you look at it.

So, let’s talk about the pros and cons of having a goalie. As for the advantage, doormen make your house a safer place to live. It has been proven that a place with a doorman has a lower crime rate. They’re also helpful, performing simple tasks for you when you’re in a hurry or leaving tasks for them while you’re gone. They know how to deal with packages coming for you, as well as ensure the identity of people who want to see you and not let them in unless their identity has been verified. The porters are also a good source of information. They know everything about the building and all the residents that live in it. You won’t have to be alarmed by not knowing what kind of person the tenant next door is.

On the downside, having a porter is an added expense on top of being responsible for tipping during the holiday season. While people are willing to spend some money on doormen, others are not. Plus, the bouncers have their hands on their schedule. This would be very useful, especially if you are a busy man, but it cannot be prevented from seeing this as an invasion of their privacy by others. Giving away your schedule to a third party feels downright weird. But personal feelings aside, it is preferable to have a goalkeeper. You can lose a few dollars for having one, but you could lose a lot more if something happens that could otherwise be avoided if you had a bouncer. It’s a small investment that will pay you back a lot.

I’m not saying that having a goalkeeper is generally the best thing for everyone. I can only assure you that having one will be of great benefit to you and your family. If you don’t feel comfortable with a doorman because you feel harassed, you can replace the human elements with devices like alarms and CCTV. They’re not exactly as flexible, but they can also do things that no doorman can, like focus their lens on a single area 24/7 or record incidents exactly when they happen. On the other hand, you cannot leave messages to the CCTV, nor can you give them instructions or ask them to do some paperwork for you. While they can be evidence in case of all kinds of assaults, all you do is stand still and take in everything that happens when something happens. The gatekeepers can take action in case they detect something suspicious.

To make your place more secure, make sure you have a doorman or CCTV system. These precautions can earn you money, but it’s better to part with a few extra bucks each month or a lot of cash once (for CCTV) than to be left totally defenseless in case your unit is spotted for the next assault.
