What will web designers focus on in 2021?

Parallax Animation

Every year, we witness the rise in popularity of web-based animation trends, including micro-interactions and particle backgrounds. In 2021, there will be more complex web animations with page elements separated at the fore and background ends that produce a parallax effect.

In essence, the parallax effect gives the illusion that images close to the viewer are moving faster compared to those further away. Every day, we can observe this when we look at the landscape while traveling in a moving vehicle. This has a similar effect on web pages that appear to be equal parts real and unreal.

The use of foreground and background creates depth that provides another immersive advantage, transforming the computer screen into something similar to a theater stage. Whenever users browse a web page, they are easily won over by its performance, just like magic does. After all, the Internet is supposed to be like some kind of magic.

Interactive questionnaires

When users visit a website, the most crucial part of their journey is the amount of time they spend on the landing page, known as the onboarding process. They are caught between fascination and lack of interest and their UX will determine which side they will choose.

Rather than allowing users to read the description and decide for themselves, most companies use questionnaires to encourage interaction. Such methods pose multiple-choice questions about your likes and dislikes so that these brands know more about the products that will meet their requirements.

When it comes to web design, your landing pages should not be like normal web pages, but rather like a sequence of cards that have animated transitions between them. This allows users to be much more interactive compared to the usual polls found in landing page headers.

These surveys that collect more information about users allow potential buyers to immediately become members, even before signing up. That said, onboarding questioners are expected to become a regular feature of web design in 2021.

Three-dimensional color

For quite some time, the use of color schemes in web design has been geared towards gradients. This year will feature a new evolution, in which color transitions will become more real than before. Therefore, the colors are expected to be saturated and three-dimensional, just like fruits that can be pulled from the screen.

Designers can achieve this trend through fine shading that brings more life to icons of the past that were otherwise lifeless. However, most people expect to see them in application icons; Web designers now choose more imperfect but natural background mixed colors instead of neat gradient transitions. Two colors side by side can suddenly smudge or maintain the depth and shadows of painted images. In general, this trend implies that in 2021, the colors of web design are intended to be more realistic than ever.
