Does the Xbox 360 towel hack really work? You’re no doubt asking yourself that question because the very idea of using towels to fix the Xbox 360 sounds ridiculous!

What is the towel trick?
You obviously need some towels for this trick, 3 actually, at least that’s what some of the towel ‘experts’ say! The first step is to wrap the Xbox 360 in the 3 towels while it’s still on!
Sound dangerous? Bet! Wrapping towels around any electrical device while it’s on presents a serious fire hazard, which is probably why it’s recommended to keep a fire extinguisher handy!
The reason for the towels is to increase the internal temperature enough to melt broken solder joints and allow them to re-solder. When the towels are removed, the weld cools and then hardens.
Does it really work?
Although the towel trick is a quick fix and can get your Xbox 360 back up and running fairly quickly, the fix doesn’t last long and needs to be repeated every few days.
Sounds great in theory, but unfortunately, it’s not as simple as that! Using this method puts unnecessary stress on internal components and ultimately destroys the Xbox 360!
The bottom line is that the towel trick does more harm than good and should be avoided unless you want to turn your Xbox 360 into an expensive paperweight.
