Founded in 2012, Velata offers delicious and easy to prepare food products as well as a business or income opportunity for those interested in marketing their business or products for an income stream. Velata products are currently sold in Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada and the United States. They currently have over 1000 employees and are a brand associated with Scentsy Inc. which I have also done an unbiased third party review on.

As mentioned above, Velata offers a wide variety of food-related products that are easy to make or bake. Velata not only offers food, it also offers tools and kitchen utensils.
Some of the products that Velata offers are no-bake cheesecake, syrups, cheese dips, tongs, spatulas, knife blocks, ceramic cutlery and many more! I am going to give a brief explanation of some of the products that the company offers.
- First class chocolates – Sweet, smooth and creamy high quality milk chocolate. He suggests heating the chocolate in a microwave and then adding it to your Velata Fondue Warmer for a satisfying dessert.
- no bake cheesecake – I like the sound of this. It’s almost easy to make, hence the “no bake” aspect. The cheesecake also comes in 3 different flavors including Classic, Key Lime, and Caramel Apple.
- raclette flip flops – Although it is not a food product, it is a product related to food. I am giving a brief explanation just to point out that Velata does, in fact, offer cooking utensils and tools. The description of these flip flops should be self explanatory. They are beautiful flip flops that are easy to wear and grip. Pretty simple stuff.
The opportunity:
Can you really make money from the Velata business or income opportunity? To answer this, we must look at their compensation plan. Velata has its payment system set by rank. You will start with a certain rank and earn a certain amount of income, the more you grow in rank the more your income will grow.
Ranks included in the Velata business opportunity are Essential Consultant, Certified Consultant, Lead Consultant, Star Consultant, SuperStar Consultant, Director, Star Director, and SuperStar Director. Payouts included are: 25% Commission on Personal Retail Volume, 7% Bonus Personal Wholesale Volume, 7% Bonus First Line Essential or Certified Consultant TWV, 5% Bonus First Line Lead Consultant TMV, and 3% Frontline Star Consultant TWV Bonus.
- superstar director – This is the highest ranking rank you can reach in Velata. Of course, there are most of the payments with this range, but there are also the most required monthly measurements that you need to achieve.
Things to do and stay active: You must have 500 Personal Retail Volume, 80,000 Group Wholesale Volume, 10,000 Team Wholesale Volume, 3 Active First Line Consultants and 4 First Generation Directors.
Payouts included are: 25% Commission on Personal Retail Volume, 9% Bonus Personal Wholesale Volume, 9% Bonus First Line Essential or Certified Consultant TWV, 7% Bonus First Lead Consultant TWV 5% First Line Star Consultant TWV, 2% First Line Superstar Consultant TWV, 3% First Line Director TWV, 3% First Generation Director TWV Bonus, 4% First Generation Director Bonus. Generally speaking though, joining a company like this tends to have a much lower start-up cost than a traditional business like a construction business where it could range from $5,000 to $10,000.
So if you are interested in getting involved with this company, there are 3 ways to do it. You must purchase one of the three kits Velata offers to get started. The 3 kits offered by Velata come with some catalogues, order forms, invitations and marketing brochures.
- fondue starter kit – $99.00. This kit comes with a fondue warmer and fondue sampler plate, two Belgian chocolates, two cheese sauces, and two Meltables.
- Pancake Starter Kit – $129.00. The crepe kit includes a crepe maker, Classique crepe mix, two artisan syrups, a cheese dip and melt.
- Basic raclette kit – 219.00. The Rachlette kit is the most expensive kit Velata offers and includes a Raclette tabletop grill and three Artisan Rubs.
They also include a personal website that is free for the first 3 months! However, you must pay $10 per month, after the 3 months, to keep it active. You can also have another website active by paying an additional $5 a month.
Final thoughts:
Velata has a wide variety of food-related products and hasn’t been in business that long, which is a good thing. That shows that, as a company, they are motivated and committed to constant expansion.
The opportunity offered by Velata may seem complex, but honestly it is not! It’s very simple and once you do it, it will make a lot more sense. You just earn money from all the different types of ranks of team members, including yours. Sure, he can make money from his company, but to be honest; The percentages of him are a bit low to begin with. Once he has reached the highest rank available, he can earn a substantial amount of income; however, the first rank does not offer much income. Also, the monthly requirements to get these payments are annoying and frustrating to keep up with.
The cost to get started is cheap to expensive, depending on how you look at it. The 3 kits on offer include different things besides catalogues, order forms, invitations and marketing brochures. It really all depends on what exactly you are passionate about offering. I like the fact that they have 3 kits; it makes it more interesting to be able to choose your path to success.
Overall I would give this company a B+. Keep in mind that they started in 2012, so they have grown at a very significant rate. I look forward to Velata being a top notch and recognized company after a few more years.
