The Cause of Suicide in US Veterans (and What You Can Do to Help)

As a former Wake County government employee, I have spoken informally with many returning veterans. I worked for ten years with Wake County. NC (and that’s where ‘Veterans Services’ is located in my town). Although I was technically an HR professional, there I learned firsthand from these men that our wars are just fabrications. That our politicians create false conflicts to sell us the idea of war (and make us pass as peacemakers of the world) when in reality what happens is twofold:

We only settle where we can aggressively control the price of oil per barrel (in other words, we will stay here and bomb your cities and shoot your citizens unless you keep the price at X) and because the “War Machine” or industry here in the US it is one of the few industries that we still have that can report our GNP. Many of the 1% get rich as we make cannons and tanks etc.

These veterans, our veterans, realize this “over there”, and are still instructed to bomb innocents (let’s say kill or assassinate, let’s keep the vernacular personal and not objective). Even the soldiers on the other side are just trying to keep us out and defend their people. We cause mass immigration to other countries when we do this too, negatively affecting world economies. That said, these men are very, very concerned about this truth. They feel like hypocrites, to say the least. Many feel they have broken a commandment from their god, and I strongly believe that is why we see such a high number of suicides in vets (a vet commits suicide every hour in the US).

Still, we have the politicians keeping the NRA in its entirety. No modifications to ANY gun…no major restrictions or protocols to license a gun owner. NRA is a 1% tool. The NRA takes its licks but doesn’t feel the judgment as it is not an entity set up by the 1% to appear to be honoring the Second Amendment. When none of that is needed. When you can fire 1100 rounds in 90 seconds (the case in the Denver theater a few years ago), I would hardly say that this is for protection or hunting. He is a necessary representative to keep the legislation in place to continue our massive carnage abroad, which is clearly very lucrative for this select group of people. Money in none cost, seems to be the mission statement.

It really is disturbing, almost debilitating, to realize that this is my country, your country, the US doing this. But that’s why those kids danced in the streets after 911. Now that I have this information, that behavior makes a lot of sense to me; where at the time I thought they were crazy or just horrible beings, even if they were just little kids. |

But this is what I thought of these innocents as my country made sure I only got half the story. So why am I writing this? I ask that veterans begin to feel like they can come forward and talk about this truth. I’m ready to hear it. I, for one, will not shoot the messenger (for lack of a better phrase).
